| Magnetoencephelography
(abbreviated as MEG) |
| There are
three different types of modalities with which one can look
at the human brain. MRI and CT scanners give information on
the structure of the brain; PET and fMRI units give information
on blood flow, oxygen consumption and metabolic activity in
the brain; EEG and MEG give information on the information processing
|

| activity
in the brain. The only two methods that have sub-millisecond
time resolution and which thus record the brain activity in
real-time are MEG and EEG. |

measures the weak magnetic fields generated by neuronal

oThe detector
of MEG is Super Conducting Quantum Interference Device
System (SQUIDS) with the sensitivity of fT of 10-15 T.
